Before Reading

Publication Date:

I was regrettably scrolling on my phone a couple weeks when I came across a video that stuck with me. The fact that I still remember it is a triumph in of itself. We all consume content on a daily basis. Many indiviudals comment on a lack of indiviudalisation and creative expression. With minimalistic everything and the current financial crisis, people are not prioritising art and creativity, there's no room for it, its not efficient. The video that I watched touched on digesting media. Not just consuming it, not just as a meaningless pursuit, but really trying to understand the person and the creation. I spent that week trying to be intentional with digesting art. I listened to a song I like, "Woods" by Mac Miller. I sat down in a cafe and just listened through, wrote my thoughts down. I listened again, reading the lyrics and breaking them down to create my own interpretation of the songs meaning. Only after having solidified my beliefs on the song did I then compare it with others. I found that although my opinion was partially agreed and disagreed with by others, once I had gone through the process myself, I felt connected to my answer. It was the only right one in my mind. If I had searched up the 'meaning' prior, I likely would have agreed with others. My point is, there is creative expression all around you, people are trying to humanise every element of life, especially in the technology-driven landscape we are currently in. Take the time to digest it and you will create your own meaning.

Why Did I Start This Blog?

Publication Date:

I want to begin my blog with a few thoughts. Firstly, I am a very introspective indivdual. I have been journalling regularly since 2018 (I was 14) and I have found that I have wanted to share my thoughts and feelings of growth with others, however, I have never found a medium that has felt "right". So, I have decided that I will publish some of my thoughts on my own personal page. Now, although most of the content here is comical and lighthearted, it was a space I created for when I wanted to share any and all thoughts. With that, enjoy :)

Nicole's Favourite Pokemon

Publication Date:

My favourite Pokemon has been up for debate since I downloaded Pokemon Go in 2018. It is an ongoing pursuit so it is important to mention the current date and that this may be something that changes. I would first like to mention my favourite starter Pokemon - Bulbasaur.

Now, on to my favourite Pokemon. Although it may be 'basic', currently my favourite Pokemon is Raichu. This is because my work water bottle has an image of Raichu and it looks very cute.
